This is the first time I have ever written to a studio requesting that a show not be cancelled. I enjoy Defying Gravity and hope you keep the show. I find the show intriguing and imaginative. Please keep the show on and let the story develop.

  • Lowell Gilbert  - Please don't cancel
At last a intelligent sf show which I look forward to every week is being cancelled. Please reconsider.
    Thank You
    Lowell
  • Tedee  - PLEASE DON'T DO IT!
This is actually a show both my husband AND I enjoy. It is both SciFi, and in depth enough to make you think.

Please give this show one more chance to survive.

  • Shelley  - PLEASE don't cancel
I have never written a network before about a show, but I would be SO upset if this show was cancelled. I love the story lines! I saved them all to get my family hooked on it also. Please don't cancel!!

  • champmav  - ABC: Please don't "kill-by-schedule"
A famously high quality series was killed by thoughtless and random scheduling (yes, I mean Firefly). I realize that $$ rule the network corporate world. Just remember the example I cited; a fortune was thrown away by Fox when they failed to recognize and nurture a quality product. It's not Firefly, but it is high quality by offering engaging plot and characters.(will forward to ABC)
  • Anonymous  - Show might not die if ABC drops the ball
You might not be able to watch on ABC, but since they don't actually produce the show another network can pick it up. Its a Fox, BBC, Omni production, so it might not die just because ABC drops the ball.
  • Federico  - History : the american shobiz way
For once you hold a story worth telling the whole darn way and once again you bureaucrats fail to understand what the science fiction world apreciate. You tease us with good stories and NEVER deliver the whole package.
Memorable TV shows like EARTH 2 and FIREFLY among others have pleased the sci-fi afficionados only to be cancelled because ratings are all you poeple care about! Why do you keep on producing sci-fi shows if you intend to $%?& us off down the road?
How the hell do you expect to generate viewing attendance if the ultimate result is disatisfaction among viewers.
At the very least try to sell the production to sci-fi channels so viewers can see the whole story.
Good shows like Battlestar Galactica have known succes with endorsment from sci-fi channels only.
Stop thinking short term and more people wise.
  • Cindy Preis  - PLEASE DON'T DO IT!
Defying Gravity is the best new show I've seen for a long long time. Please [to the millionth power] don't cancell this show! It seems that anything that leans toward the science-fiction genre doesn't have a chance in this climate.

I'm still mourning the loss of Pushing Daisies and Boston Legal... so please keep me as a viewer at ABC and don't cancel Defying Gravity!

    Yes, I'm begging.
  • Mary  - Save This Show
This is the first time I've ever written to support a TV show but Defying Gravity ("DG";) deserves it. The show is thoughtful and well-written. The acting is fresh and it deserves a chance to prove itself.
Its summer release reduced the audience potential but if DG now could be linked to a time slot in front of another prime-time favorite, ABC could control the evening.
Right now ABC dominates with "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters" on Sundays. ABC is launching "FlashForward" in front of "Grey's Anatomy" on Thursday night. ABC knows how to do this.
ABC needs to find a slot for DG. The current fans will support it and the viewership will grow. Be careful, HBO would love and nurture a series like this.
  • Jorge  - Give this show a chance
This show is the next LOST!
Please keep this show around -- the writing and plot lines are intelligent, the actors are excellent and the special effects are remarkable for TV.
  • Troy  - Sure, cancel a good show. What r u thinking
Why cancel something worth watching. Oh yeah; need airtime for another reality show. Like maybe " Watch me change the channel while I look for another good show ". Get the point? Cancel this series and I go back to my favorite channel SYFY.
  • Jeff  - Please do not cancel
Defying Gravity is the best show to air since Firefly. I have watched each episode at least 3 times and will continue to watch them on ABC.com. I have been passing info on about this show to all my friends and family.

Please, to the executives at ABC, make the right decision and do not cancel Defying Gravity. If you do cancel it, there will be nothing for me to watch on ABC once Lost is completed.
  • martin Bock  - defying gravity
Defying gravity has brought me back from TV boredom to interest in being an active part of the audience. In contrast to my usual habit of watching whatever seems to be less annoying, I have looked forward to each new episode. Should I expect that with the cancellation of this series, your network will be even more confirmed in producing drama only according to formulas that haven't changed in a long, long time?
I believe that commitment to innovation and excellence win out in the long run. While the slickness of most major network production reveals some attention to excellence - as long as what is produced doesn't break through traditionally established boundaries - there's no evidence of the spirit of invention that adapts failing strategies to the demands of success.
But I have to say that if nothing else comes of this attempt to at least put a slight crack in the mold, the phrase, "Open the pod bay door," has a new meaning. Now that this series has opened the hatch...
  • Kirsten  - Defying Gravity
I can't believe ABC would even consider cancelling Defying Gravity. I finally looked forward to Sunday evening just because of this show. Not only should they air the remaining episodes in this season, but they should immediately start filming next season. I am so disappointed in ABC. If ABC is foolish enough to cancel this series, let's hope some other station has enough sense to recognize a great show when they see it, not to mention a loyal viewing base.
  • Robert  - Defying Gravity
Defying Gravity is a great show! It should stay on the air! Maybe with some more effort to promote the show, I wouldn't have to be writting this right now!
This show has the potential to influence technology from this point on, like Star Trek did!
Keep the show running you fools!
Like other comments above I hope if ABC won't keep it going someone else will pick it up and realize a good thing when it falls into their hands.
As Ted would say, "your being an ASS can!"
  • Joseph Brock  - Defying Gravity
Defying Gravity was doomed from the start when they mentioned their "six year voyage". Brings to mind immediately the "five year mission" that was cut short for the same reason. That show, after cancelation, went to the big screen creating a whole new genre of it own and probable one of the largest fan following ever. Who hasn't heard of "Trekkies". And if you happen to find one who hasn't you can have them look it up in the dictionary. What other show can say that. Hmm, here's food for thought. What would be a catchy name for "Defying Gravity" fans?
  • Cory  - Keep On "Defying Gravity"!
Please, do not fail to complete the "Defying Gravity" series. It is truly some good stuff! Great premise; good production quality; strong characters; and "The Beta" ...c'mon! I've really enjoyed the stories thus far and would be greatly vexed to not see them come to their much deserved fruition. Keep up the good work and keep on "Defying Gravity"!
  • John
With all of the brain-dead reality shows that have permeated the air waves, it has been a real pleasure anticpating a show each week that has such a great balance of good plot, good writing, good acting and good special effects. I can't believe that after only eight fantastic episodes, that there is even a rumor of it being cancelled.
  • Cory
I can only hope that if ABC is remiss in seeing "Defying Gravity" to it's appropriate outcome that some other - wiser - production company picks up the option and does this series justice.
  • John Hamilton  - Defying Gravity Will be A Hit--Given Tsonme Time
Defying Gravity was a little slow in stating but my interest has accerlated as the show has progressed. This is an intelligent show that needs just a little more time to develop a follwing. ABC give it a chance to grow. It will be worth your investment.
  • Mary Nelson
Normally I am not a science ficton fan, but the human interest in the story line is compelling. Let it continue and other people will find it, too.
  • John  - Waiting for the end of the break...
I've watched the show and it's a good show that seems to be getting better. Now I'm waiting for it to get back from its break.
  • James
Not one to usually write and beg for a show, but this show is well worth it. Well written and performed brilliantly, this show could have potential of a huge following. There is enough other crap on TV and this is actually something good with a great premise.
  • Matt Cory  - Keep Defying Gravity on TV!
My immediately family of three (wife, husband, mom) have become glued to this show, and we are all quite distressed to hear that it is in jeopardy of being canceled.

We've trawled the internet in search of un-aired episodes and were able to find and watch episodes 9 and 10. They were awesome! The show just gets better with every airing!

Keep Defying Gravity in your lineup and find a home for it in your 2009 fall schedule!

There is so little content of any value on network and cable TV these days. Staged "Reality" shows dominate the air. Dare to be different - dare to have integrity - and dare to program to the highest common denominator in your viewership instead of the lowest.

Keep Defying Gravity on the air!
  • Kristina Lavoie  - Here we go again...
I just found out about the status of the show. I though it had ended for the season, or that it was on a short hiatus between episodes. Lo and behold, I check TV.com and they're saying it's slotted to be canceled! Don't do this! This was one of the FEW shows I get excited to watch every Sunday (the ONLY others I watch are House, Dollhouse and Bones). It would be a crime to cut another great show like this, all because of network stupidity: they did it with Firefly, and I don't remember ever being so confused as when they canceled THAT gem of a show. I seem to remember they aired the episodes out of order, and even skipped certain ones. Did someone out there have a grudge against Joss? If the same were to happen to Dollhouse, we'd know for sure. Does someone have a grudge against shows that demonstrate a fair amount of promise? Great character development? An intriguing plot? There really must be. Even if the fan-base is small at this point, we love the show and will stay loyal to it...
  • barb  - Don't Give Up on Defying Gravity
When I first heard that Defying Gravity was rumoured to be cancelled I thought “It figures. Of course [the network] is going to be cancelled this show. I really like it." It seems like the shows I watch always gets cancelled. I'm getting to the point where I’ll wait two years before watching a show to ensure the networks don’t cancel it on me. I rarely watch premieres, because I want to know what makes "the cut" before I invest my time into a show.
I live in Canada and am grateful the Space channel has aired episodes 10 (Déjà vu) and 11 (Solitary). I still really like this show. Both me and my two sisters like it. I can hardly wait for this Friday to see the next episode. I'm VERY disappointed that it is rumoured to be cancelled.
Defying Gravity is a great show, with good acting, a diverse cast of characters, and an interesting story line that keeps evolving.
I’ve always been a TV watcher, but I am getting annoyed with the networks cancelling great shows, such as ...
  • Rick E  - Family tv
Thank God for Space: The Imagination Station here in Canada. We have had all 8 episodes shown so far. The entire family loves it. I don't like Grey's Anatomy all that much and my wife and kids are not big scifi fans. This show brought us all together. If ABC won't produce it anymore, I wonder if The SciFi chanel along with Space here in Canada as well as a few European networks would like to pick it up.
  • Jim S
What does ABC have against Scifi? In 2005 ABC canceled Invasion, now it's Defying Gravity. Too bad we cannot send ABC "moon pies" like when peanuts were sent to CBS for canceling Jericho.
  • deerosner  - Please bring on Season TWO !!
:ooo: this show is simply smart, addicting, intriguing!!

Please do not cancel. Clearly there seems to be a resurging interest in SCI FI !! So please keep this show...such a good show, cast.

    many thanks!!
  • Annette  - is it too late?
I recently heard that Defying Gravity was in jeopardy. I am distraught! I just logged on to the ABC website to leave a message, and Defying Gravity isn't listed in the show drop down list. Does that mean it's too late? Is Gravity gone? :(
  • anonymous
Been watching DG in the UK, despite its "graveyard" slot late at night - intelligent, imaginative writing. Compelling story which keeps you engaged. Just discovered its being axed, and found this website. Unbelievable.
  • John Holmes  - Words escape me
I can't believe this show has been canceled. It's by far the most captivating piece of scifi I've ever watched (and I've watched quite a lot!).

I simply can't express clearly enough how much I want this show to continue. I'd be willing give blood to pay for the making of it (actually, that's not allowed in the UK, I don't think?!), and I already give blood, but my point still stands.

I pay my licence fee to the BBC in the uk and the only programme I've ever felt really passionately about has been canceled.

    Words escape me.......

    BRING IT BACK
  • adrian  - bring it back
watched a few eps on UK tv, then grabbed the rest illeagally via torrent (god bless canada!)

want blu ray, but even more, want the next series!!!!

    BRING IT BACK!!
  • Peter Randrup  - Defying Gravity To Be Cancelled? Say It Ain't So!
Defying Gravity is one of the best, most unique shows on TV today. I'm so tired of networks letting us get hooked on a show only to cancel it if it doesn't get "enough" viewers or (worse yet)the right demographic.

The shows Firefly and The Jouneyman come to mind. Ther was definately an audience....but today it has to be a hit from day one.

Please, please, pleeeeeeeease DO NOT CANCEL DEFYING GRAVITY!!!!
